A fire broke out in a children's play area at the Mogán Mall in the municipality of Mogán, southern Gran Canaria, prompting an early Saturday morning response from firefighters. The alarm was raised at 05:48 AM, and emergency crews were dispatched promptly.
Two fire units focused on locating and extinguishing the source of the fire. Once the flames were under control, significant time was dedicated to clearing the heavy smoke that had accumulated in the premises and surrounding areas of the mall.
The shopping center's automatic fire protection system functioned as intended, with sprinklers activating and helping to confine the fire to its origin point.
The operation concluded with the complete extinguishment of the fire and thorough ventilation of the affected facilities. The incident occurred when the shopping center was closed to the public, ensuring visitor safety.
