This space, inaugurated with the presence of local authorities, features LGTBiQ+ themed literary works published by the Canarian publishing house Siete Islas. In addition to book presentations, the public can enjoy the Burbujas illustration exhibition and the Amor Valiente photographic display.
The Burbujas exhibition, comprising fifteen illustrations, is complemented by texts from a novel of the same name. This bilingual proposal, in Spanish and English, addresses themes such as homophobia, self-acceptance, and the 'coming out' process, seeking to generate empathy and inclusive dialogue about diversity.
Furthermore, the Amor Valiente photographic exhibition, coordinated by an activist and expert in children's rights and trans families, documents moments from the wedding of a female couple held in Agaete in 2019.
Within the framework of this event, a local brand is carrying out a solidarity campaign with the sale of a limited edition pack of ribbon-shaped candles, whose colors symbolize different realities of the LGTBiQ+ community. A portion of the proceeds from these sales will be donated to a local association working for LGTB rights.
The 25th edition of Maspalomas Pride by Freedom is sponsored by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and the Government of the Canary Islands, in addition to the support of various entities and companies.
