A 12-year-old girl sustained a severe head injury this Sunday after falling approximately four meters in Charco de los Azulejos, in the Gran Canarian municipality of Mogán, triggering a large emergency response.

The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received the alert at 4:07 PM. A group of paramedics who were in the area provided initial assistance, reporting that the minor had a severe head injury and kept her immobilized.
Due to the challenging terrain and the difficulty of ground evacuation, a rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was activated. The aircraft located the girl and transported her to the Veneguera football field.
Simultaneously, personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, Mogán Civil Protection, and the Local Police secured the area to allow aircraft landings. At the football field, the injured minor was transferred to a medicalized helicopter from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC).
After being stabilized and immobilized by the SUC medical team, the girl was evacuated directly to the Canary Islands University Maternal and Child Hospital. The SUC health coordinator maintained contact with the hospital's emergency pediatrician to coordinate specialized care upon her arrival.
