The workshops, titled 'Your Grief Process from Childhood: A Route for Navigators', brought together 80 participants, including professionals and the general public, at the Arguineguín Multipurpose Center. The main objective was to offer a space to understand and support the complex process of loss.
A psychologist and thanatologist led these sessions, providing practical strategies for handling situations of loss, recognizing and validating the emotions that arise during grief, and understanding the various ways to navigate this journey.
During the first day, the concept of normalized grief was explored, offering keys to identify an adaptive process. The session emphasized the importance of accepting one's own emotions and valuing the small daily gestures that help give meaning to the path of grief.
The second session focused on complicated grief, with special attention to risk factors, warning signs, and criteria that may indicate the need for professional referral. The initiative is part of a work line that began in October and has maintained significant interest among the community.
“"This type of activity responds to a citizen demand and continues to generate interest among residents and professionals."
