The Mogán City Council has taken a significant step in its housing policy by awarding the construction of 23 social housing units in Arguineguín, an initiative valued at over 3.7 million euros.

The Local Government Board of the Mogán City Council approved the award to the company Satocan SA for the construction of a residential complex that will house 23 social housing units. The project, with a budget of 3,767,652.37 euros, has an estimated execution period of 18 months, starting from the signing of the staking out act.
This action is part of a collaboration agreement between the Mogán City Council, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, the Canarian Housing Institute, and the Gran Canaria Housing Consortium. The main objective is the regeneration of degraded areas such as La Charca de Arguineguín and Barranco de Pino Seco, allocating these homes to families in the municipality who live in precarious conditions.
The future building will be located at the intersection of Gazmira Street and Damasco Street, adjacent to the Arguineguín Social Services building. It will feature three floors above ground and a basement, distributing the 23 units into 16 two-bedroom homes, 6 three-bedroom homes, and one one-bedroom home. Additionally, it will include storage rooms, common areas, facilities, and all necessary elements to ensure accessibility and energy efficiency. The construction will also prioritize acoustic comfort through a multi-layer facade with insulation, aluminum carpentry, and an inverted flat roof.
This initiative complements the progress of Mogán's Municipal Housing Plan, which includes various strategic actions in different locations. In Motor Grande, two social housing developments are planned, adding 197 homes under the Incentivized Affordable Housing model. In Veneguera, 28 social housing units are projected with funding of 6.2 million euros, of which 5.7 million come from municipal funds, and whose project is in an advanced stage. Likewise, the development of 29 social housing units in El Horno is progressing, currently in the drafting phase. To this is added the future creation of approximately 50 homes in the historic center, following the municipal acquisition of a building for 1.5 million euros, whose basic project is already underway. Finally, in La Loma de Pino Seco, also in Arguineguín, Lopesan is already carrying out the works for 59 social housing units.
