Redeia, formerly known as Red Eléctrica de España, is set to invest over 8.3 million euros in three crucial projects aimed at enhancing the electrical infrastructure within the municipality of Mogán, Gran Canaria.

Among the primary initiatives is the construction of a new 66 kV double-circuit overhead-underground power line, which will link the future Mogán substation with the existing Arguineguín – Santa Águeda 3 line. This new line, spanning 11.89 kilometers, with 0.176 kilometers being underground, represents an investment of 4.3 million euros.
The overhead section of the line will cover 11.719 kilometers and will be supported by 26 lattice metal towers, one of which is already in place. The transition from overhead to underground will occur in the Mogán ravine, where the line will run parallel to E-Distribución's line and the ravine itself, leading to the new substation.
In addition to the new line, the project includes modifications to tower T-3, located at the entrance to Arguineguín, and the reinforcement of existing towers T-1 and T-2. Tower T-3 will be equipped with auxiliary cross-arms to extend the second circuit to the Santa Águeda substation, situated in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
Redeia's total investment for these three projects amounts to 8,389,881 euros. The construction of the new Mogán substation, which will receive the new 11-kilometer line, involves an investment of 3.9 million euros. Complementary electrical installations, including the conversion from overhead to underground lines and transformation centers, are budgeted at 143,165 euros.
For the execution of these works, Redeia has sought administrative authorizations and declarations of public utility and environmental impact from the General Directorate of Energy of the Government of Canarias. The projects will affect 54 plots belonging to approximately 50 owners, primarily unproductive agricultural land, orchards, pasture areas, or public domain paths. All three technical proposals and their respective impact declarations will be open for public review for 30 days.
