Canarian Government Assesses Projects and Needs in Yaiza

A delegation from the regional Executive visited the southern municipality to oversee infrastructure and plan future investments.

A delegation from the Government of the Canary Islands, led by the president, visited Yaiza on Thursday, April 23, 2026, to assess the municipality's needs and oversee infrastructure projects.

During the day, the regional delegation toured various areas of Yaiza, aiming to gain first-hand knowledge of recently improved infrastructures and works scheduled for upcoming execution. The visit included the supervision of the expanded pier in Playa Blanca, as well as the evaluation of future investments.
Among the prominent projects for imminent execution are the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant in Playa Blanca, the improvement of the Health Center in the tourist town, and the extensions of several educational centers. These actions seek to address the population growth that the municipality has experienced in recent years.

The institutional visit allowed for on-site monitoring of several actions considered priorities for Yaiza. Emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining a coordinated response between different administrations to ensure that the municipality's development is accompanied by an improvement in public services.
