The Yaiza City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, will commence the execution of the comprehensive rehabilitation project for seven roads in the residential and tourist area of Las Coloradas, in Playa Blanca, on Monday, September 21st. The total investment amounts to one million euros from the municipal budget.
The first phase, which will include reinforcement of the road surface, paving, signage, and accessibility improvements, will take place on Playa de Afre street. Due to this work, the road will be temporarily closed for an estimated period of six days.
The council urges residents, property owners, establishments, and other affected users to take these circumstances into account and to pay attention to the provisional signage and the instructions of the construction personnel. In addition to Playa de Afre street, the council will also carry out work on Avenida Papagayo and the streets Las Palmeras, Ombú, El Moral, Las Buganvillas, and Las Acacias in Las Coloradas.
“"The execution of the road improvement program and the elimination of architectural barriers in various parts of Playa Blanca that experience incessant vehicular traffic, such as Avenida Papagayo, Las Coloradas, or the entrance to our tourist nucleus from Femés. In these three projects alone, we are investing 4.9 million euros of municipal funds."
The Councilor for Public Works of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, has requested the cooperation of residents, businesses, and accommodation complexes regarding any inconvenience these works may cause, as they aim to improve road safety in the area. It is noted that hotels in Las Coloradas were informed two weeks ago to make mobility arrangements.
Concurrently, the City Council is advancing the conditioning of Avenida Papagayo, the main artery of Playa Blanca. The project is in its second phase, covering the section between Maciot street and Janubio street, which will be paved during the week of September 28th, necessitating traffic diversions.
