The gala, which had to be postponed from its original date, brought together the sports community of Arona, showcasing the efforts of its clubs, boards of directors, technical staff, athletes, and families. The event featured an entrance by a broad representation of local sports clubs, followed by speeches from the Councilor for Sports, Luis Sierra, and the Mayor, Fátima Lemes Reverón.
The most anticipated awards recognized the best athletes and the best club of the year. Efrén Morales and Raúl Díaz were honored as Best Male Athletes in beach volleyball for their outstanding season, including winning the U21 Spanish Championship. Malvina Muñoz Andrade, a gymnast, was recognized as the Best Female Athlete for her national championships in junior double minitramp and tumbling.
The award for Best Team of the Year went to the Club Deportivo Samguk of taekwondo, recognized for its Canary Islands titles in various categories and the senior runner-up position. The Club Balonmano Arona received the Award for Best Practices in Gender Equality in Sport for its promotion of balanced participation and inclusion.
During the gala, the achievements of numerous clubs and athletes were highlighted in disciplines such as athletics, taekwondo, swimming, gymnastics, boxing, judo, beach volleyball, volleyball, handball, motorsport, grappling, beach tennis, skate, paddle tennis, figure skating, rhythmic gymnastics, equestrianism, and sailing, demonstrating the variety and level of sports practiced in Arona.
The European project LESS4MORE by Club Arona Voley was highlighted for facilitating the integration of migrant women through sports. The sporting career of José Antonio Arranz Cáceres in long-distance triathlon and the sporting longevity of Luisa García Morales, 93, a participant in the sports activity program for seniors, were also recognized.
The celebration, accompanied by artistic and musical performances, concluded with a performance by Jadel, marking the end of an afternoon dedicated to local sports.
