The Arona City Council has begun installing 20 free Wi-Fi access points in various municipal departments and public facilities, aiming to facilitate internet connectivity during in-person services and improve access to digital services.

The new Wi-Fi network, which is free and open to access, will allow citizens to connect to the internet while carrying out procedures, consulting information, or downloading documentation related to administrative processes at municipal facilities.
Among the spaces benefiting from this initiative are the offices of the Citizen Service Center (SAC), the hall of the Arona Casco Town Hall, and municipal areas such as Procurement, Cadastre, Accounting, and Urban Planning.
A significant portion of these access points will be designated for the use of municipal employees to facilitate their work in departments like the Local Police, the administrative building, or Tax Collection. In areas with direct public service, connections will be specifically provided for users, mainly in the waiting rooms of the SAC and the main town hall hall.
The project also includes a second functionality to be progressively implemented: the Wi-Fi points will serve as a new communication channel with citizens through a captive portal system. This will allow users, upon connecting, to access the municipal website and, in the future, the Arona City Council's application, after granting permission to receive communications.
