The closing event was attended by the mayor of Arona, Fátima Lemes Reverón, and the Councilor for Seniors, Ruth Martín, who joined participants on the last day of this activity held every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer.
The program saw a regular participation of around 120 seniors from different areas of the municipality. Necessary support was provided to facilitate the inclusion of individuals with dependency situations.
The sessions, adapted to the participants' characteristics and needs, allowed for safe outdoor sports practice, promotion of healthy habits, and improvement of physical condition, benefiting from the seaside environment.
Beyond physical activity, the program has become a space for social gathering and interaction among seniors from various parts of the municipality, forming part of municipal actions to promote active aging and autonomy.
The Municipal Sports Board is already preparing for the return of physical activities in neighborhoods and senior centers, scheduled for October.
