The Local Police department of the Arona City Council, led by councilor Héctor Reyes, has resumed operations at the El Fraile security office. This initiative restores a key point for direct citizen attention and enhances police presence in this area and its surroundings.
Situated in the El Fraile Civic Center, next to the Health Center on San Sebastián de La Gomera street, the office will facilitate access to Local Police services, enabling closer assistance for inquiries, demands, and security-related matters.
In addition to El Fraile, this service point will also cover nearby areas such as Guaza, Las Galletas, Palm-Mar, Costa del Silencio, Guargacho, and Parque La Reina. The goal is to improve police presence and response capacity in this significant part of the municipality.
The reopening of this office follows the recent addition of 31 new officers to the Arona Local Police force, a reinforcement that has boosted operational capacity and police presence across various neighborhoods.
This increase in personnel is complemented by an update of material resources, including 26 new vehicles, such as patrol units, motorcycles, an accident investigation van, and a vehicle adapted for the Canine Unit. The K9 Unit, comprising three dogs, and a new drone unit have also been launched, alongside the restructuring of the Accident Investigation Section for enhanced specialization.
The expansion of resources has enabled the intensification of preventive measures and police operations throughout Arona, including traffic controls, interventions related to narcotics, personal mobility vehicles, administrative infractions, and public security operations.
By reopening the El Fraile office, the Local Police department reaffirms its commitment to bringing police services closer to neighborhoods and strengthening prevention and direct citizen support.
