The INFOCA special plan is activated in the islands of El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, and Tenerife. In Gran Canaria, the alert applies to the northern slopes above 600 meters altitude, and the western, southern, and eastern slopes above 400 meters.
These conditions, characterized by temperatures that could reach and exceed 37ºC locally in Gran Canaria (even 40ºC at points) and 36ºC in Tenerife, along with relative humidity below 30% and moderate winds, significantly increase the potential for fire spread.
Temperatures of up to 35ºC are expected in La Palma, 37ºC in La Gomera, and 35ºC in El Hierro, with low relative humidity and moderate winds across all western islands, necessitating reinforced preventive measures.
These conditions can favor greater fuel availability and an increase in fire propagation potential.
