The incident occurred after two vehicles collided on the road connecting the TF-1 and TF-5 highways, blocking the usual flow of drivers accessing Tenerife's capital from the island's south and north.
Civil Guard officers were deployed to the scene to cordon off the area, manage vehicle flow, and secure the involved cars. A single lane was provisionally opened to prevent a total blockage of the entrance to Santa Cruz while vehicles were removed and the road was cleared.
Security forces are currently conducting investigations to determine the causes of the collision. Drivers accessing the capital in the coming hours are advised to exercise extreme caution or seek alternative routes.
