Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has reached a valuation of $965 billion, surpassing OpenAI and becoming the world's most valuable startup.

The artificial intelligence firm Anthropic has unseated OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, to become the most valuable startup globally. The company recently announced it had raised $65 billion in a new funding round, bringing its valuation to an impressive $965 billion.
This latest capital round, led by investors such as Greenoaks Capital, Sequoia Capital, Altimeter Capital, and Dragoneer Investment Group, has nearly 2.5 times increased the company's previous valuation, which stood at $380 billion just three months ago.
Anthropic, founded in 2021 as a spin-off from OpenAI by executives including siblings Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei, has focused on developing safer artificial intelligence. Its generative model, Claude, through its successive updates, has proven to outperform ChatGPT in tasks like computer code generation, making it a preferred tool for numerous businesses.
In recent months, Anthropic has solidified its position in the AI market. The company has confronted political decisions, refusing to allow its systems to be used for social surveillance or the creation of autonomous weapons. Furthermore, it has announced the development of an AI named Mythos, designed to detect cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and has advised the Pope on the risks associated with this technology.
