A new restaurant in Arona, Taberna Coliseo, has opened its doors to offer residents and visitors of Tenerife a culinary experience that evokes the traditional flavors of Rome.

Italian gastronomy, especially pizza and pasta, enjoys great popularity in the Canary Islands. Responding to this demand, Taberna Coliseo has established itself in the municipality of Arona with the mission of serving authentic Roman dishes.

The establishment specializes in homemade Italian food, highlighting classics such as Carbonara, Amatriciana, Cacio e pepe, and Gricia with artichokes. Most of these dishes are priced at 10 euros and are named after emblematic places in the Italian capital.
In addition to main courses, the menu includes a varied mix of fried foods, among which a notably large suppli is mentioned. Another distinctive item is the “pizza tongue,” an elongated and narrow version that allows for two flavors, considered a very typical Roman dish.
