Between January and June of this year, a total of 1,221 workplace incidents were officially recorded in the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. This brings the monthly average to 203 incidents, surpassing the figure of 190 recorded in the first half of 2025.
According to statistics provided by the Cabildo's Data Center, based on data from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (Istac), the majority of these incidents required medical attention and resulted in sick leave. Fortunately, 1,219 of the cases were considered minor.
The remaining two cases were classified as serious. The information from the Cabildo's Data Center highlights that, during this period, there were no very serious incidents or fatal accidents, unlike the first half of 2025, when a human life was lost.
May was the month with the most concerning statistics, totaling 224 incidents. In February, 174 accidents were recorded, all with minor consequences.
