A medicalized aircraft transporting two seriously ill patients from Cape Verde to Amsterdam made an emergency landing in Gran Canaria to repair an isolation bubble, as confirmed by the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands.

The plane, carrying two individuals with hantavirus from the cruise ship Hondius, was forced to divert from its original route after Morocco denied authorization for its landing within its territory.
This technical stop was not initially planned. During the aircraft's time on the ground, no one will be allowed to disembark or board, according to official sources.

"This is a technical stop to fix a patient's isolation bubble and continue the planned journey."

the Government Delegation
Two of the three people evacuated from the ship on Wednesday en route to the Netherlands are in serious condition. Initially, the Government Delegation had reported that the purpose of the landing was to refuel.
