Binter has commenced operations on its new direct route, establishing a weekly connection between Gran Canaria Airport and Logroño-Agoncillo Airport in La Rioja. Flights will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays, offering a new mobility option between the Canary archipelago and the mainland.
The inauguration was attended by various institutional authorities from La Rioja, including the Minister of Local Policy, Infrastructure, and Fight Against Depopulation, Daniel Osés, and the Minister of Culture, Tourism, Sport, and Youth, José Luis Pérez Pastor. Representatives from tourism, infrastructure, and the mayor of Agoncillo were also present, along with the airport director. Binter was represented by Jonay Lobo, Director of Programming, Revenue Management, and Alliances.
“"Expectations are very positive. Since sales opened, we are registering a booking pace higher than usual for a new connection, which confirms the existing interest in this route."
Lobo highlighted the positive reception of the route, noting that approximately 60% of tickets sold originate from the Canary Islands, demonstrating the interest of Canarian travelers in La Rioja. Flights will operate with Gran Canaria Airport, with departures on Wednesdays at 08:15 and Sundays at 08:35. Returns from Logroño are scheduled for 12:55 on Wednesdays and 14:00 on Sundays.
In addition to this new connection, Binter has announced reinforcements on other routes for the summer season. Starting June 19, the schedule to Pamplona and A Coruña will be increased. For A Coruña, a weekly frequency will be added on Fridays to Gran Canaria, bringing the total to five weekly connections between the two destinations during the summer. For Pamplona, a new Friday frequency to Gran Canaria will be added to the existing four weekly flights, resulting in five connection days per week (Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays via Gran Canaria; Tuesdays and Saturdays from Tenerife North).
Furthermore, starting June 21, the schedule between Mallorca and the Canary Islands will be reinforced for the summer season. A new weekly frequency will operate on Sundays to Gran Canaria Airport, bringing the total weekly connections between these destinations to eleven during the summer.
