The joint operation, framed within the fight against irregular employment and social security fraud, was carried out in various companies and premises within an industrial estate located in the south of the island of Tenerife. During the intervention, a total of nine establishments housing ten companies were inspected, and 21 workers were identified.
The operation concluded with the arrest of a man, the owner of one of the inspected warehouses, as the alleged perpetrator of a public health offense. Inside his premises, officers located twelve cannabis plants, along with various instruments intended for their cultivation, such as automatic irrigation systems and grow lights.
Regarding compliance with social order regulations, the presence of an irregular worker was detected. Furthermore, numerous serious deficiencies in occupational risk prevention were identified, for which formal correction has been required, along with the corresponding demand for administrative responsibilities from those involved.
This action highlights the close collaboration between the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate and the National Police. The coordination between both bodies strengthens control over compliance with labor regulations and actively contributes to the prevention of illicit activities, thereby ensuring legality and safety in the labor sphere of the Canary Islands.
