CB Canarias is experiencing a streak of five consecutive losses between the Liga Endesa and the Basketball Champions League, a negative dynamic not seen at the club for six years.

The 'aurinegro' team has accumulated five setbacks in just 28 days, an incomprehensible fall after a very promising start to April. The current streak strongly contrasts with the victories achieved against Real Madrid and Galatasaray in mid-April, which generated euphoria among fans and admiration in continental basketball.
The last time the team experienced a similar situation was in the 2019/2020 season, when they strung together five games without a win. However, that streak had a significant caveat: it was interrupted by a break of over three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the last three matches were played in the 'bubble' organized by the ACB.
Going further back in time, to the 2015/2016 season, the then Iberostar Tenerife also started the league with five consecutive losses. At that time, the club was more modest and was in the process of consolidating in the elite. The losing streak was broken with the arrival of Txus Vidorreta to the bench, who debuted with a victory in the derby.
Other longer negative streaks were recorded in previous campaigns, such as the six consecutive losses in 2012/2013 or the ten in 2013/2014, which included league and Copa del Rey matches. In both cases, the streak was ended with a victory in the Canary Islands derby.
