Up to five flights were diverted this Wednesday at Tenerife North Airport due to dense fog, according to Aena sources. Of these diversions, one flight originated from La Palma, another from Barcelona, one more from Seville, and the remaining two from Lanzarote.
Aena recommends that passengers check their flight status with their respective airline before heading to the airport facilities.
The weather forecast for the day indicated mostly clear skies, with intervals of low clouds along the northern coast, especially during the early and late hours. Light haze was also expected, which, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), would dissipate by the end of the day.
Temperatures are expected to see a moderate decrease, potentially noticeable in the maximums in inland areas, with the possibility of reaching 30ºC in some mid-altitude zones. Thermometers will range between a maximum of 29 degrees forecast for Tenerife and a minimum of 18 degrees on the island of El Hierro. Winds will blow moderately from the northeast, intensifying at the northeast and northwest extremities, and shifting to a westerly component in mid-altitude and high areas.
