GDR Maxorata has organized an introductory course on drip irrigation installation, specifically aimed at the island's wine sector. The training will take place over several sessions: on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and on Saturdays, September 26 and October 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The main objective of the course is to enhance technical knowledge on efficient water management, familiarize attendees with different irrigation systems and components, and cover aspects such as soil, salinity, and the fundamentals for installation design. The methodology combines theoretical and practical training to promote more sustainable viticulture adapted to Fuerteventura's arid conditions.
The program includes a theoretical part on the introduction to drip irrigation installation, held on September 25. Practical sessions will take place on September 26 and October 3. The instructor for both parts will be Lidia Castañeda. The course will be held at the Centro Cultural Raíz del Pueblo.
This workshop is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), as part of the Strategic Plan for the CAP (PEPAC) 2023-2027, through the LEADER Initiative. It also receives support from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
