The capital of Tenerife is preparing to host the Cycling Festival, a sporting and family event aimed at promoting sustainable mobility and healthy lifestyles. Hundreds of participants will gather to traverse an urban route designed for the occasion.

To mark the bicycle ride, the Santa Cruz City Council has implemented a special traffic management plan. Temporary traffic diversions and parking restrictions are anticipated on a total of 13 streets and avenues within the municipality. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of all attendees and facilitate the event's progress.

The main disruptions will begin early. Madrid Avenue will be closed to traffic from 7:00 AM on Sunday. Subsequently, Francisco La Roche Avenue will experience closures starting at 9:00 AM. Other roads on the route will see progressive closures from 10:00 AM, once the main group of cyclists has passed and under the supervision of the Local Police.

The planned route includes streets such as Bélgica Avenue, San Sebastián Avenue, La Salle Avenue, Galcerán Bridge, Weyler Square, Méndez Núñez Street, El Pilar Street, Villalba Hervás Street, La Marina Street, Marítima Avenue, and the Vía Litoral Tunnel. The council advises citizens to plan their journeys and consult alternative routes.

In addition to traffic diversions, parking restrictions will be enforced from the early morning hours on several sections of the affected streets, including Madrid Avenue, Bélgica Avenue, Méndez Núñez Street, El Pilar Street, and Villalba Hervás Street, among others.

The City Council requests the public's cooperation and urges attendees to follow the instructions of the Local Police and the event staff to ensure the smooth running of the event, which is consolidating itself as a popular occasion to enjoy the city on two wheels.
