Maxi Barrera's team started the match at Los Pozos determined to secure the points and avoid relying on other results. After several attempts, the team found its reward just past the half-hour mark, when a throw-in from Ale Martínez was headed in by Samu Corral, who scored his thirteenth goal of the season.
Ten minutes later, Atlético Paso came close to sealing the match with a quick counter-attack led by Ale Martínez, which ended in a shot wide from Alberto Escudero. Meanwhile, the local team, Herbania, who needed a victory to keep their hopes alive, tried to react, but the visiting goalkeeper, Roberto, saved a dangerous header.
Paso's promotion was confirmed with an early celebration in Fuerteventura and followed by fans who did not travel, in the town center of La Palma, once again in Segunda Federación.
After the break, Herbania came out with renewed energy and managed to equalize thanks to a spectacular free-kick from José Yared in the 50th minute, which flew into the top right corner of Roberto's goal. Despite the equalizer, Atlético Paso maintained control of the situation, and although the match became a frantic exchange of attacks, the score remained unchanged.
The definitive confirmation of promotion came with the news of Mensajero's goal in the 90th minute against San Fernando. This result secured the championship for Atlético Paso, who celebrated their return to Segunda Federación, while Herbania was relegated to Preferente.
