The resolution, issued by the Department of Natural Environment, Sustainability, Security and Emergencies, takes effect immediately. Despite this easing of rules, the council emphasizes that the pre-alert status for high temperatures requires maintaining strict control over activities within the Tenerife mountains.
Among the restrictions that remain in force is the absolute ban on lighting bonfires, barbecues, or stoves, as well as the use of gas cookers outdoors. Smoking is also prohibited in recreational areas, campsites, trails, tracks, or viewpoints, and the use of pyrotechnics or machinery capable of generating sparks remains suspended.
On the other hand, the new regulations allow for the partial recovery of public use of natural spaces. Transit on roads and municipal routes is authorized, as well as access to private properties, cycling or horse riding on forest tracks, and walking on authorized trails.
