An environmental agent from the La Laguna City Council was injured this Tuesday when his all-terrain vehicle collided with a palm tree on Camino Las Peras in Tenerife, causing traffic delays.

The incident occurred at noon on Tuesday on the well-known Camino Las Peras, a route connecting the city of La Laguna with the Vía de Ronda. Initial investigations suggest that the vehicle, a Toyota Hilux from the municipal fleet, may have experienced a mechanical failure before the impact.
The collision was so severe that the SUV lost a wheel and sustained significant damage to its front and right side. The environmental agent, who was driving the vehicle, suffered a finger injury as a result of the accident.
Officers from the La Laguna Local Police arrived at the scene to prepare the corresponding report on the incident. The damaged vehicle remained across the roadway, causing considerable traffic congestion in the area for several hours.
