Fundación CajaCanarias is launching its Autumn Cultural season in La Palma this Friday, September 18th. The CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de La Palma will host the event starting at 8:00 PM.
The featured artist for the opening session is Tenerife-based performer Fabiola Socas, who will present her musical project Postal a Venezuela. This project is based on a double CD recorded in 2024 and features collaborations with musician Jesús Pingüino González and percussionist Juan Cruz Iriza.
Postal a Venezuela is a heartfelt tribute to Canarian emigrants in Venezuela and their descendants returning to the islands. The compositions explore the reciprocal influences between Canarian and Venezuelan musical genres, highlighting the non-coincidental similarity between the timple and cuatro strumming, and other traits demonstrating the close relationship between Venezuela and the Canary Islands.
