Following a successful performance at the Chamber Hall of the Tenerife Auditorium, the concert arrives in Gran Canaria as a unique opportunity to enjoy this tribute in an intimate format. This event consolidates the international vocation and exclusive nature of the FIMUCITÉ 20 programming.
Produced by Robert Townson, the show journeys through iconic scores by John Williams, an influential figure in film history. The performance features internationally acclaimed Italian pianist Simone Pedroni, renowned flutist and recording artist Sara Andon, and Madrid-based cellist Irene Alvar Rozas, a member of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria. They will perform unforgettable works such as Schindler's List or Jurassic Park, the latter interpretation dedicated by Sara Andon to the recently deceased actor Sam Neill.
Robert Townson highlighted the audience's response and the musicians' interpretive quality, calling the night "magical." Sara Andon expressed her excitement about returning to the festival, which she considers "family," and emphasized the special nature of this project, which includes recording a new album dedicated to the music of John Williams.
Simone Pedroni also shared his satisfaction with participating in the festival and with the artistic outcome of the concert, which confirmed the emotional connection that Williams' music continues to evoke across generations.
The program traverses fundamental film titles such as Star Wars, Schindler's List, Memoirs of a Geisha, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Hook, Sabrina, The Witches of Eastwick, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Far and Away. The selection aims to showcase the composer's melodic strength and expressive richness in a chamber arrangement that has the express approval of John Williams himself.
FIMUCITÉ 20 is supported by Turismo de Tenerife, the Culture Department of the Cabildo de Tenerife, the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands, and the City Council of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, along with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and other public and private collaborators.
