Only Enric Gallego and David Rodríguez of CD Tenerife have tasted victory at the Romano José Fouto stadium in Mérida, a ground historically challenging for the blanquiazul team.

The Romano José Fouto stadium in Mérida poses a significant challenge for CD Tenerife, which has historically struggled to secure wins there. The team's record from three visits in the 1990s stands at two losses and one draw. Even the current coach, Álvaro Cervera, has never set foot on this pitch, neither as a coach nor as a player.
However, two members of the current squad, Enric Gallego and David Rodríguez, are familiar with victory at the Romano. Additionally, Juanjo Sánchez, who played as a home player at this stadium for two seasons, also has experience there. In total, six Tenerife players have competed at the Romano.
Enric Gallego was the first to celebrate an away win on May 6, 2018, while playing for Extremadura. He scored one of the goals in their 0-2 victory. Six seasons later, David Rodríguez also accumulated minutes and a 0-1 win with Antequera in 2023, a club he was loaned to by Tenerife.
Not all their teammates have shared the same fortune. Jesús de Miguel, with Navalcarnero and Castellón, and Iván Chapela, with Cádiz's reserve team and Unionistas de Salamanca, failed to secure victories in their visits to the Romano, although Chapela did manage a draw. Javi Pérez, currently injured, also played at the stadium in the 2015/16 season with Almería B, in a match that ended 3-3.
The player who knows the Romano best is Juanjo Sánchez, who played 21 matches there, including a playoff game for promotion to Segunda División. He joined Mérida in 2024 and made his home debut with a victory and a goal against Castellón.
The stadium, inaugurated in May 1953 and renovated in 1995, owes its current name to the president who led CP Mérida to the top tier of Spanish football, putting Extremadura on the national football map.
