This feature, now fully operational after a gradual rollout, aims to provide a browsing experience tailored to individual interests. According to data from Google, readers are twice as likely to access a media outlet if they have previously marked it as a preferred source.
The process to add a media outlet as a preferred source is straightforward. Users need to perform a search on any current topic in Tenerife or the Canary Islands using their mobile or desktop browser.
Subsequently, in the “Top Stories” section, a star-shaped icon or a settings button to the right of the header should be located. Clicking on it will allow users to search for and select their desired media outlet from the list of preferred sources.
Once selected, Google's algorithmic system will begin to display news from that outlet more frequently in the specific “From your sources” section and at the top of featured results, thereby adapting the search experience to the user's preferences.
