The incident unfolded last Friday afternoon in the municipality of Tacoronte, when Local Police officers spotted a vehicle speeding. When signaled to stop, the driver ignored the commands, initiating a pursuit through several local streets.
The chase began near the access to El Pris, when the vehicle, a red Audi A3, was first observed by municipal agents at 7:00 PM. The pursuit extended through areas such as Guayonge and Ernesto Castro Street, involving three police patrols to ensure safety and prevent potential accidents.
After several risky maneuvers, the car carrying the three men was finally intercepted in the San Juan neighborhood. A breathalyzer test administered to the driver revealed a blood alcohol content of 1.02 milligrams per liter of exhaled air, which is four times the legal limit of 0.25 and exceeds the 0.60 threshold for a road safety offense. Additionally, it was confirmed that the vehicle lacked the necessary documentation.
The driver is under investigation for an alleged crime against road safety, both for driving under the influence of alcohol and for reckless driving. The three men in the car, aged between 40 and 50, are known to law enforcement in the Northeast region of Tenerife, having accumulated numerous prior offenses, including robberies and violations of restraining orders.
