A 26-year-old man was evacuated by the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) helicopter after suffering a moderate injury while hiking in Mesa de Tejina, Tegueste, Tenerife, last Sunday.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of Canarias. The challenging terrain, exacerbated by recent rainfall, made ground access to the hiker difficult.
Tenerife Firefighters Consortium personnel, supported by Civil Protection, managed to reach the affected individual. Due to the difficult trail conditions, they requested aerial assistance for the evacuation.
The GES helicopter crew, in collaboration with the Guardia Civil and Local Police, successfully rescued the young hiker. He was then transported to Tenerife North Airport for medical attention.
Upon arrival at the airport, personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) attended to the hiker, who presented with a moderate trauma. He was subsequently evacuated to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias for further evaluation and treatment.
