The incident occurred this morning, April 6, 2026, while the hiker was in the well-known natural area. The alert was received by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of the Canary Islands at 11:15 AM.
Emergency protocols were immediately activated, deploying the GES helicopter due to the challenging terrain and the affected person's inability to move. The woman had sustained trauma to one of her lower limbs.
After being located and evacuated from the ravine, the hiker was transported to the Adeje Firefighters' helipad. There, an ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) was waiting to provide initial medical assistance and subsequently transfer her to Hospiten Sur for a more thorough evaluation of her injury.
