The iconic rooster that resided in the Plaza del Adelantado, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, is undergoing recovery at the Valle Colino Regional Shelter. The bird suffered a severe attack by a potentially dangerous breed dog. Following the incident, the Local Police have initiated an investigation to identify the dog's owner and determine potential administrative sanctions, as confirmed by the City Council this Saturday.

The events unfolded when the dog's owner allegedly deliberately incited the animal to attack the rooster. The swift intervention of several citizens present in the area, along with the arrival of Local Police officers and collection personnel, enabled the bird's rescue in the public thoroughfare.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the rooster was transferred to an external veterinary center for emergency treatment, where it received stitches. Currently, the animal remains stable and under constant supervision at the Valle Colino facilities, awaiting a new review on Monday.
