In an emotional confession on the show 'Tu cara me suena', Jesulín de Ubrique evoked the beginnings of his romance with María José Campanario. The bullfighter recalled that a song by M-Clan was playing when they met in January 2001, and admitted that it was his partner who soon took the initiative in the relationship. "By June she told me: ‘Well, what’s happening with you?’, and she lit a fire under me," confessed Ubrique, highlighting his wife's decisive character.
Jesulín also revealed the bold phrase he used to captivate her on their first date at a café: "I told her a phrase: ‘Remember this face, you’ll never forget it’". More than two decades later, their marriage seems to validate that prophecy.
Presenter Manel Fuentes took the opportunity to pay tribute to María José Campanario, whom he described as "a spectacular woman" and "very dear to the entire technical and artistic team" of the program. "We are big fans of you, but we are even bigger fans of your wife," stated Fuentes, drawing applause from the audience.
Far from showing jealousy, Jesulín de Ubrique reacted with pride to the praise for his wife. "She outshines me. But hey, if my wife outshines me, I let her," he declared with a smile, showing his happiness for Campanario's own brilliance on the small screen.
