The La Laguna City Council and the mixed company Teidagua are implementing significant improvements to the stormwater drainage system on San Miguel Street in the Taco neighborhood, with an investment of nearly 40,000 euros, to mitigate the risk of flooding during intense rainfall.

These interventions, which include optimizing storm drains and expanding the existing collector, aim to resolve recurrent flooding issues affecting the area. This initiative fulfills a commitment made to residents to enhance local hydraulic infrastructure.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, accompanied by the Councilor for Public Works, Ángel Chinea, and the managing director of Teidagua, Braulio Domínguez, visited San Miguel Street to oversee the progress of the works. During the visit, they discussed with residents the expected benefits of these actions.

"This project was a commitment we made at the beginning of our term with the residents of the area, who had been reporting incidents during persistent rain episodes. If we consider climate forecasts, these adverse phenomena will become increasingly common, so we must take decisive steps in terms of adaptation and mitigation."

The works on San Miguel Street focus on two key aspects: the installation of new storm drains on San Luis and El Sol streets, as well as the expansion of systems in front of the Taco Deputy Mayor's Office to improve water collection. Additionally, the existing stormwater collector that drains into the ravine is being improved and expanded, which will significantly increase evacuation capacity and reduce the risk of future floods.

"These efforts are part of Teidagua's Investment Plan, whose main objective is the continuous improvement of stormwater infrastructure throughout the municipality. The plan seeks to minimize sensitive points in the network and ensure efficient drainage that protects both public spaces and private properties of residents."
