The La Laguna City Council organized the European Craft Days at Plaza Hermano Ramón, an event that brought traditional crafts closer to the public on April 10th and 11th.

The initiative, promoted by the Promotion and Local Development department, aimed to make artisanal production processes visible and highlight the importance of trades that are an essential part of the municipality's identity. It also contributed to economic revitalization and the promotion of the local craft sector.

"Artisans are true guardians of our municipality's identity and traditions. Their work not only preserves techniques and knowledge that are part of our history but also adds value to the present and future of La Laguna."

Domingo Galván · Councillor for Local Development
Over the two days, the public enjoyed a varied program that included live demonstrations and participatory workshops. Attendees could learn techniques in cutlery, openwork, metal enameling, ceramics, stamping, and handmade paper production, taught by expert artisans.
The program also featured an exhibition dedicated to tinsmithing and coppersmithing, presented by Hijos de Wenceslao Yanes. This display allowed visitors to get a close look at one of La Laguna's most representative traditional trades, promoting its recognition and dissemination among new generations.
Councillor Domingo Galván invited residents and visitors to actively participate, thereby supporting the craft sector and discovering the value of these trades that are a fundamental part of the municipality's collective identity.
