The city of La Laguna is preparing for the fourth edition of Piano Day this Saturday, April 18, transforming its squares into open-air stages for a musical day that will bring together numerous performers and music lovers.

Organized by the La Laguna City Council, through the Culture department, and the production company Mastecla2, this annual event seeks to bring piano music closer to the public, taking it out of concert halls to occupy the town's heritage spaces.

"This proposal aims to bring music from concert halls to the streets, turning our heritage spaces into true open-air auditoriums very close to the general public. It is a first-rate cultural attraction and a unique opportunity to enjoy piano music in an exceptional setting."

Adrián del Castillo · Councillor for Culture of La Laguna
Four grand pianos will be installed in the emblematic squares of La Concepción, La Catedral, Hermano Ramón, and Doctor Olivera. From 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, a varied program will be offered, featuring performers of all ages and musical styles.
Among the confirmed artists for this edition are Satomi Morimoto, Ernesto Mateo with minimalist music, Gino Marcelli presenting his latest solo piano album, and the innovative proposal by Rubén Zerpa and Diego Expósito with piano loops beats & go. Also participating are Ricardo Alonso and Antony Vallejo, semifinalist and finalist of La Voz 2024 and 2025 editions respectively, along with other talents such as Juan Carlos Martín, Argimiro Sánchez, Tamara Ascanio and Axel Afonso, Mauro Fariña and Irene Fariña, and Cristina Rodríguez.
In addition to the concerts, the event will feature the participation of various music education centers on the island, such as the Professional Music Conservatory of Tenerife and the Guillermo González Municipal Music School of La Laguna, among others. Simultaneously, Alba Carracedo will lead an emotional piano workshop, designed to introduce the instrument to people without prior musical knowledge.
