The La Laguna City Council has initiated a selection process to fill 61 career civil servant positions, resuming large-scale recruitments after more than two decades. The exams are scheduled for July 31st at the Tenerife Fairgrounds.
Over 6,500 individuals have registered for this procedure, which includes positions from groups A1, A2, C1, and C2. Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez highlighted the significant interest generated, noting that this initiative addresses the need for generational change within a workforce where many employees are nearing retirement.
The recruitment of new personnel will ensure the continuity of municipal services and enhance the local administration's management capabilities. The examination day will be divided into four shifts: administrative assistant (C2) at 8:00 AM, administrative staff (C1) at 11:00 AM, management technicians (A2) at 2:30 PM, and general administration technicians (A1) at 5:30 PM.
Of the 61 positions, thirteen are for internal promotion to administrative roles (C1). Open competitive examinations will allow for the hiring of eight general administration technicians (A1), five management technicians (A2), and six administrative staff (C1). The category with the most positions will be administrative assistant (C2), with 29 vacancies.
The Councilor for Presidency and Planning, Carla Cabrera, explained that police officers will oversee the exams to ensure the security, neutrality, and transparency of the process, acknowledging the efforts of the Human Resources department and collaborating municipal units.
