The municipal initiative aims to bring leisure, culture, music, technology, and community proposals to young people in Las Chumberas, Punta del Hidalgo, Tejina, Las Mercedes, La Barranquera, Taco, Valle de Guerra, and the Obispado neighborhood, running until October 3rd.
The Councilor for Education and Youth, Sergio Eiroa, highlighted the goal of bringing activities to all corners of the municipality, offering varied alternatives and encouraging young people to discover other parts of La Laguna. "We want the program not to be concentrated in one place, but to travel through our towns and neighborhoods," he stated.
This Thursday, September 3rd's schedule includes La Joveneta in Las Chumberas (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM) with workshops and sports, plus a session of Summer Cinema showing Zootrópolis 2 at the same location. In Punta del Hidalgo, the cinema will screen Ready Player One at 9:00 PM. That evening, Tejina will host Noches de Fantasía featuring Víctor Hubara, Nacho Peña, and La Maldita.
On Friday, September 4th, La Joveneta will continue in Las Mercedes (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM) with workshops and sports activities. On Saturday the 5th, Valle de Guerra will host Territorio Joven (6:00 PM - 2:00 AM), while La Barranquera will celebrate the Barranquera Festival 2026 starting at 7:00 PM with artists including Beto Uña and Castion.
That same Saturday, San Luis Gonzaga square in Taco will host the Ruta Salsera (8:00 PM - 12:00 AM), offering salsa, bachata, and merengue, social dancing, animations, and dance tutorials. On Sunday the 6th, 'La Joveneta' will reach the Obispado neighborhood (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) with workshops and sports.
San Luis Gonzaga square in Taco will also host Territorio Joven on Sunday (12:00 PM - 4:00 PM), featuring sports and games for all ages, including table tennis, basketball, and background music.
Sergio Eiroa reiterated that the program is designed for youth participation and enjoyment of free time, and the positive response encourages continuing with a program that is "diverse, accessible, and present throughout the municipal territory."
The Young Passport 2026, which includes over a hundred activities in 63 locations, will run until October 3rd, covering the historic center, the university area, the coast, and various towns and neighborhoods of La Laguna.
