The Paraninfo Pablo González Vera Art Hall at the University of La Laguna is currently showcasing the exhibition ‘Leyendo miradas’. This initiative, now in its twelfth edition, fosters an encounter between artists who have not previously met.
Within the project, photographers capture scenes inspired by what they read, while poets write about the images they see. This results in a shared creative output that unites text and visuals around a common theme. The exhibition, promoted by the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and University Extension, featured a musical performance by Raquel Tejerina during its opening event.
The exhibition explores intimate territories, ranging from personal summer visions with clear skies and flying feathers to the island's landscape, everyday details we often overlook, and photographs in various formats, both black and white and color, bridging the visual and the written.
The exhibition brings together works by eleven poets and photographers. It opened to the public on June 29 and was formally inaugurated on July 9 with poetry readings and the photographic display. Visitors can view the selected photographs, each alluding to a specific poem.
The exhibition is open until July 24, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
