The University of La Laguna, via its Knowledge Transfer Office (OTC), has launched the creation of a Map of Business Needs and Challenges for R&D&i, aiming to connect university research with the productive sector in Macaronesia and West Africa.

This strategic initiative, led by the OTC within the European project InnoVamos, seeks to identify the technological demands and innovation challenges of companies in the region. The goal is to align these needs with the scientific-technological capabilities of the research community and promote collaborative projects in priority sectors through open innovation.
The InnoVamos project, headed by the Canarian Foundation Science and Technology Park of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, involves 17 partners from the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores, and African countries such as Ghana, Cabo Verde, and São Tomé and Príncipe. A key objective is to establish an effective connection between universities and businesses, accelerate technological transfer, and enhance regional business competitiveness.
Through this sectoral map, participating companies will be able to present their needs, access specialized knowledge, find strategic partners, and become part of a key cross-border network for the region's economic and social development. In the long term, these actions will be integrated into a stable university-business cluster to drive global strategic alliances.
The process of engaging companies from strategic sectors is already underway. Interested companies are invited to participate by contacting the project's official email: innovamos_otc@ull.edu.es.
The InnoVamos initiative is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the INTERREG VI-A Madeira-Azores-Canarias (MAC) Programme 2021-2027, aimed at strengthening technological transfer and the cross-border innovation ecosystem.
