Sporting de Gijón defeated Tenerife 0-1 this Friday at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, halting the home team's strong start in LaLiga Hypermotion.

The Asturian squad secured crucial away points in their first road trip of the season. The first half saw local dominance, with Tenerife holding off Sporting's play without creating significant danger, largely due to a solid defense.
Víctor Moreno was one of Tenerife's standout players in the first half, causing defensive doubts. He had a clear scoring chance in the 13th minute after an individual play, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Rubén Yáñez.
Sporting, who posed little threat, had a goal disallowed by VAR before halftime, scored by Guille Rosas, due to a prior handball by Konrad.
In the second half, Sporting increased their pressure and verticality. In the 68th minute, Iosifov delivered a precise pass to Sarco, who had just come on, to score the game's only goal (0-1).
Tenerife attempted a late comeback but appeared rushed and erratic in their decision-making and execution, unable to turn the score around.
The match, part of the third round of LaLiga Hypermotion, was played in front of 17,131 spectators at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López.
