Brazilian player Marcelinho Huertas has emerged as the all-time leading scorer for CB Canarias in the Liga Endesa. The 'aurinegro' guard surpassed his teammate Gio Shermadini, who previously held the top spot in this statistical category.
Huertas' 23 points scored in the third and decisive quarter-final playoff game against Real Madrid, which concluded with a 95-107 victory for the Canarias team, brought the Brazilian's league total to 3,312 points. This mark surpasses the 3,295 points accumulated by Georgian center Gio Shermadini.
This new record adds to Huertas' impressive collection of historical achievements with the club's jersey. The guard already leads CB Canarias in assists in the Liga Endesa and is also the all-time assist leader in the ACB.
Furthermore, Huertas ranks third among players with the most appearances for the club in the top flight, with 242 games. He is also second in accumulated valuation (3,679 credits), third in minutes played (5,926), and second in made two-point shots (1,038).
