Since his debut in the Liga Endesa in 2024 with Joventut, Marcelinho Huertas has shown an upward trajectory in his scoring ability. In the current campaign, the Lenovo Tenerife player has surpassed his own record, set last year, by averaging 15.6 points per game. This figure is notably higher than his historical average of 10.1 points in the competition.
Throughout the 2025/26 season, Huertas has delivered outstanding performances, such as the 28 points scored against Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos on November 8 at Santiago Martín. Despite a partial plantar fascia injury in his right foot in early February, which forced him to miss several games, the point guard returned with exceptional form, including 20 points against BAXI Manresa and 23 against Lleida.
Beyond his scoring prowess, Marcelinho Huertas is renowned for his passing skills. He leads the ACB's all-time assists ranking with 3,352 passes, surpassing figures like Pablo Laso. With Lenovo Tenerife, which he joined in the summer of 2019, he has exceeded 1,500 assists in the Liga Endesa, reaching a total of 1,501 after the game in Lleida.
His impact on the game also extends to other areas, such as three-point shooting, where he boasts a 39.7% accuracy rate in the 2025/26 season, his best mark in eleven years. Furthermore, he has improved his rebounding average, with 2.7 per game, a figure he had not reached since the 2010/11 campaign with Baskonia. With his contract expiring in June, his future with the team remains uncertain until the end of the season.
