The ordinary pre-registration process for the 2026-2027 academic year at the University of La Laguna (ULL) confirms the high demand for the Medicine degree, which has received 1,491 first-choice applications for its 130 available places. This figure underscores the continued appeal of Health Sciences-related degrees among students aspiring to pursue higher education at the Tenerife institution.
In total, the ULL has received 8,176 initial applications for 4,967 places across 57 degree programs, including undergraduate and double degrees, as well as studies offered at the Adeje and La Palma campuses. The application period closed last Thursday, and the figures from this first phase of the procedure were released on Friday.
Following Medicine, Nursing ranks as the second most in-demand degree, with 528 applications for 100 places. Psychology comes third, having registered 491 applications for a quota of 200 places. These figures reflect the consolidation of health-related studies and anticipate intense competition for places.
Demand is not confined to the health sector. The Primary Education Teacher degree has also attracted 491 first-choice applications for 260 places. Other notable degrees include Law, with 356 applications, and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, with 331 applications. These preferences combine degrees with high employability, professional vocation, and career paths in essential public services.
