The Maritime Rescue vessel Salvamar Acrux transported the occupants of an inflatable boat, all male and of Sub-Saharan and Maghrebi origin, to the island. The inflatable was spotted on Friday afternoon by personnel from the Spanish Air Rescue Service, who alerted the provincial center of Maritime Rescue in Las Palmas.
Maritime Rescue coordinators contacted vessels transiting the area, and one of them, the 'Anemos', reported that the boat was in apparent good condition and offered to escort it. The rendezvous occurred around ten at night.
Once the occupants of the boat were brought aboard the Salvamar Acrux around 10:30 PM, they were transferred to Lanzarote. The rescue vessel arrived on the island approximately at 1:22 AM on Saturday, according to details provided by Maritime Rescue.
