The CajaCanarias Foundation continues its Autumn Cultural program in La Palma with an event focused on gastronomy, television, and social media. The session will feature gastronomic journalist Mikel López Iturriaga, founder of El Comidista, and audiovisual analyst and journalist Mariola Cubells.
The event, titled 'Laughter, Food, Television, and Social Media,' will take place tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, at 8:00 PM at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Both experts will discuss how gastronomy has become a cultural and media phenomenon, analyzing its connections, transformations, and excesses in contemporary society.
Mikel López Iturriaga, known for making cooking accessible to the general public from a rigorous and entertaining perspective, will offer a special live edition of his 'Aló Comidista' advice segment. Meanwhile, Mariola Cubells, specializing in television and audiovisual culture, will analyze the evolution of culinary content in the media, from traditional formats to current television contests.
The discussion will also address the role of social media in the constant exposure of food, marked by trends and images. The encounter promises to be an enjoyable and critical reflection on what we eat, what we watch, and how we construct our daily narratives.
