The Minister of Health, Mónica García, has defended the normal docking of the MV Hondius cruise ship in the Port of Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife, despite objections from the Canarian Government, assuring that the health operation will not be affected.

The vessel MV Hondius has docked at the Port of Granadilla de Abona, in Tenerife, amidst a tense calm. The situation has been marked by significant friction between the central government and the Canarian Government, which began with the hantavirus outbreak and has continued through the evacuation.
On Saturday midnight, the president of the Canarian Government, Fernando Clavijo, had unauthorized the ship's docking, citing “lack of information and unilateral decisions.” However, the Ministry of Public Works responded swiftly, mandating the Port of Granadilla to accommodate the cruise ship.

"Nothing will distract us from continuing to work towards the common goal: to ensure this operation concludes successfully. We, with all due respect and despite the opposition, must state that the docking and arrival of the ship have occurred with complete normality."
